U.S Election: Hillary Clinton Takes 3-point Poll Lead over Donald Trump with Four Days to Go

Despite the e-mail leak of Hillary Clinton as exposed by Wiki Leaks, she is still topping her counterpart Donald Trump in the presidential polls. 

The poll also suggests that the majority of voters have already made up their minds and that the latest revelations and accusations about both candidates have made marginal difference.

The poll published by New York Times/CBS News gives a small lead to the Democrats, saying 45% of voters are supporting Mrs Clinton, with 42 backing Mr Trump. While that lead may be leapt on by supporters of Mrs Clinton, experts point out that it is within the poll’s margin of sampling error.

The poll puts Libertarian Party candidate, Gary Johnson, on five points and Green Party candidate, Jill Stein, on four points.

More than 22 million Americans have already cast their ballots, and roughly one in five likely voters who participated in the poll said they had already voted.

The findings of that poll are very similar to one commissioned by ABC News/Washington Post which have been operating a tracking poll that scored the race 47-45 in favor of Mrs Clinton.

Pollsters said the race has gone from a one-point advantage in favour of Mr Trump to a two-point lead to Mrs Clinton over the last four averages.

The nationwide polls may underscore the advantage most experts believe Mrs Clinton has, based on the fact that she is leading in many swing states such as Pennsylvania and Wisconsin that are all but essential to secure if a candidate is to reach the White House.

Other battleground states, including New Hampshire and Colorado, suggested a slight lead for Mr Trump.

A Chinese monkey described as the “king of prophets” has tipped Donald Trump for the US presidency, a tourism park said, after the creature successfully predicted the winner of football’s European Championship final earlier this year.

1 million Poor Nigerians To Get President Buhari's N5,000...See Details

About one million poor Nigerians are about to get N5,000 each in the president Muhammadu Buhari's scheme to feed the poor.

There are no online applications required for the very poor Nigerians for whom the monthly N5,000 Conditional Cash Transfer of the Buhari Social Investment programmes are designed for.

This clarification was made today by Mr. Laolu Akande, the Senior Special Assistant on Media in the Office of the Vice President in a chat with the press.

He was responding to questions arising from what he described as some misleading reports in the media regarding the implementation of the N500B Social Investment Programmes of the Buhari administration.

The said media reports are based on a recent debate and resolution on a motion in the Senate, titled “The Need to Avoid the Mismanagement of the N500B Social Intervention Funds.”

“While we understand the need for an ongoing public discussion of this unprecedented budgetary allocation in favor of the Nigerian people especially the poorest and the most vulnerable, it is not correct to claim any form of mismanagement or marginalization whatsoever,” he said.

“There has not been any disbursement from the allocated fund not to talk of any kind of mismanagement at all. While it is true that funds are being released for the social investment programmes, it is rather preposterous for now to say there is no evidence where the funds have gone to. As an administration noted for its transparency, we intend to fully keep Nigerians posted of all financial expenditure in line with extant laws of the country.”

The Presidential spokesperson explained that “of the series of social investment programmes we have outlined, only the job creation scheme-N-Power requires an online registration from unemployed graduates and non-graduate youths.”

He noted that the Conditional Cash Transfer, CCT, which would pay N5000 monthly to the most vulnerable and the poorest Nigerians-a total of one million in the first year-“no online registration of any kind is required,” Akande asserted.

Justifying the requirement for online registration for the hiring of 500,000 unemployed graduates, Akande said “it is important to explain, again, for the benefit of clarity, that the requirement for online application for the N-Power job scheme makes absolute sense considering that all together the Federal Government is planning to hire half a million unemployed Nigerian graduates.”

According to him, “we are all witnesses to the calamity that occurred in the past when a manual effort was made to hire large number of Nigerian youths. It led to needless deaths and outright chaos.”

Continuing the spokesperson stated that “asking university graduates, for instance, to apply online is not such a cumbersome or unattainable requirement considering that JAMB, NECO, WAEC applications have all been done online for a while now in this country.”

He said “what online applications do is to afford us as a government an efficient and effective means to process the applications and select the graduates and non-graduate youths for the N-Power job and training programmes.”

On the claim that Borno State is not online and therefore the N-Power process discriminates against people in the state for whom the programmes are designed, Akande said such a claim “simply flies in the face of the fact. Almost 15,000 Nigerians from Borno State applied in the first application series of N-Power schemes online.”

According to him “it is also not tenable to argue that people in Maiduguri for instance which today plays hosts to tonnes of international NGOs cannot apply online or are denied internet access.”

He added that in states like Enugu there were over 20,000 applications online for N-Power, disclosing that states with the lowest numbers like Zamfara and Bayelsa had over 6,000 and 7,000 applications respectively.

Continuing he said “in any case we are aware that in several parts of the country, there are reported instances where local leaders of goodwill ensured that the people-unemployed graduates and youths- who did not readily have access to the internet were adequately taken care of in different ways including creating online registration points and outlets.”

He disclosed that the selection process for the first batch of 200,000 Nigerians to be engaged in the N-Power process has now been completed, and that their official engagement is now awaiting the completion of BVN verification so that they would be paid directly.

Asked how the selection was done, Akande said “Presidency officials collaborated actively with the Ministries of Agriculture & Natural Resources, Health and other government agencies all through the process. There were no foreign consultants involved, nor is one needed.”

He further explained that to make up the selection of the first 200,000, there were three criteria thus: 40% selected based on the number of applications per state, a special mark-up for the 6 states of the Northeast and a discretionary addition for states with low numbers of applicants.


Asked to comment on the comparison of the Buhari Social Investment with the failed SURE-P, Akande argued that the Buhari Presidency has made “very diligent and transparent efforts to ensure that the Social Investment Programmes do not repeat the errors of the past, and the attempt therefore to hurriedly compare the programmes with failed efforts of the past, like SURE-P, even at this early stage is simply baseless.”

According to him, the Buhari Presidency conceived the Social Investments Programmes as a means to effectively and efficiently touch the lives of Nigerians, especially the unemployed and the poorest, and “we have designed a full-proof process that will ensure that the goods are delivered. There would not be any middle-men and the payments to be made to the N-Power candidates, the monthly N5,000 to the poorest and most vulnerable among others would be paid directly to them.”

He stated that “if and when clarifications are required on the programmes, we would be very much willing to supply them in order to avoid such misleading and unprofitable confusion of issues that has taken place in the media on this matter recently.”

FG Employs 200,000 Graduates and Places them on N30,000 Salary

The President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration has employed about 200,000 graduates to work as teachers and agricultural extension workers across the country.

This was revealed by Laolu Akande, senior special assistant to the vice president on media at the second presidential economic communication workshop in Abuja on Friday.

“We have selected 200,000 graduates out of 500,000. This is the first batch,” he said.

“One hundred and fifty thousand will work as teachers while 50, 000 will work as extension workers. Their pay which is 30, 000 per month, will go directly into their account,” Akande added.

According to him, the new employees would work in their states of residence. They will be supervised by their respective local governments.

Businessman Loses Filling Station & Shopping Complex After He Failed to Explain Where He Got Money to Buy the Properties (PHOTOS)

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has seized a filling station and a shopping complex from a man (Abdullahi Rilwan) who described himself as a building engineer simply because he was unable to explain the source of his wealth and how he got the money to gather expensive properties.

The EFCC, on October 31, 2016 arrested the self-acclaimed building engineer for offences bordering on operating a land racketeering syndicate, criminal conspiracy, unlawful possession of classified documents, obtaining by false pretense and money laundering.

Operatives of the EFCC had as part of investigation into the $2.1billion arms procurement fraud, visited the Kuje Area Council, Abuja. The visit was in connection with several properties in the area, suspected to be proceeds of money laundering.

In the course of investigating the ownership of a filling station and a shopping complex both still under construction located along Pegi Road, in the Kuje Area Council, operatives gathered that Rilwan was in charge of the construction work.

Rilwan, who was subsequently engaged, denied ownership of the station, but confirmed he was the engineer in charge of the construction work. He admitted to being the owner of the shopping complex. He also told operatives that he was the owner of two companies, Kaibo Oil and Gas and Kaibo Properties, but could not account for the source of wealth.

A visit to his office, however, revealed that he was involved in several shady and suspicious business transaction deals.

The revelation made EFCC operatives to beam their searchlight on Rilwan’s business activities. Subsequently, on October 31, a search and arrest warrant was executed at his Kuje residence.

The search unearthed several implicating documents in his custody, many of which he used to sell plots of land. Properties recovered from his residence in Kuje, include letter-head papers in the name of Kuje Area Council allocating plots of land, an “Irrevocable Power of Attorney” in favour of Air Commodore Bassy Inyang, a “Right of Occupancy” document granted to Henryville Farms, Abuja, among other implicating documents."

The filling station and the complex are currently under investigation, and he would be charged to court as soon as the investigations are concluded.

Ex-Oceanic Bank Staff Sentenced To 195 Years In Jail For Fraud (PHOTO)

Justice Dije Abdu Northerner of the Kano state High Court convicted and sentenced former Oceanic bank staff, Aliyu Suleiman, to 195 years imprisonment for allegedly stealing over N21m (Twenty one Million Naira only) from Albasu Microfinance Bank.

As a former staff of Oceanic Bank, Aliyu was engaged and entrusted by the Albasu Community to take charge of their Microfinance Bank. While in charge, he violated that trust and siphoned over N21m by forging signatures of the other signatories to the funds.

He was first arraigned in court on September 30th, 2014. As usual, he pleaded not guilty to all the count charge brought against him by the EFCC.

Delivering judgement, the presiding judge sentenced the convict to serve two years on each of the first forty four counts he was charged with and a fine of N300,000 on each, AKS Media reports.

Where the convict defaults the fine, he is to serve additional six months imprisonment on each count. From count 45 to 74, the convict was sentenced to fine of N500, 000 or twelve months imprisonment on each count while on count 75 to 105, he is to pay fine of N200, 000 or twelve months imprisonment on each count with the exception of count 97 which appeared to be duplication.

The sentences are to run concurrently.

The convict was also ordered to restitute the sum of N14, 815,000 (Fourteen Million, Eight Hundred and Fifteen Thousand Naira Only) to the Albasu Community or spend five more years in prison.

Female Banker Hires Assassins To Kill Ex-Husband In Lagos (Photo)

Police have arrested two suspected hired-assassins and a female banker over failed attempt to assassinate her ex-husband, Mr. Tochukwu Onyebuchi.

Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu paraded the suspects at the today at headquarters of the state command in Abeokuta.

He said the banker, Oluchi Tochukwu, hired the assassins to assassinate her husband in his residence at Ayobo area of Lagos.

Iliyasu named the two suspected assassins as Chigozie Smart (32) and Kingsley Ikechukwu (36).

He said they were intercepted and arrested on October 19 at Ijebu-Ode while attempting to escape to Onitsha with the victim’s Range Rover Jeep.

Oluchi was also arrested at Ayobo area of Lagos.

He said, “Oluchi, a 32-year-old banker, who is married to one Tochukwu Onyebuchi years ago, got separated from her husband following some matrimonial problems.

“The custody of their only child is currently being contested in the court but Oluchi has another plan. She connived with the trio of Chigozie Smart, Kingsley Ikechukwy and one other who is now at large to eliminate her husband.

“She arranged weapons which includes cutlass, iron rods and acid which she kept in her husband’s compound at Ayobo area of Lagos State and described where she kept it to the assailants.

“The suspects went there on Wednesday as planned and matcheted the man severally on his head and poured the acid on him.

“The suspects thereafter abandoned the victim and took away his range Rover Jeep which Oluchi instructed them to drop at her brother’s place in Onitsha, Anambra State.

“Luck ran against them when a patrol team of the Ogun State command on Wednesday sighted the vehicle along the Ijebu-Ode/Benin expressway and stopped it for search.

“While searching the vehicle, blood stain was seen and the two occupants were unable to give satisfactory account of the blood stain, hence, they were arrested.

“It was during interrogation that the suspects revealed all that transpired to the police.”

NAN reports that the commissioner of police said the man, who had been treated at an undisclosed hospital, was in the custody of the police helping them in the process of investigation.

As usual, Oluchi denied contracting the men to assassinate her estranged husband.

Oluchi, who acknowledged that her three-year-old marriage to her husband had crashed, claimed that she had no reason to kill him.

Meanwhile, Chigozie insisted that it was Oluchi who hired them to kill her husband with a promise to purchase “Tokunbo” cars for each of them after a successful operation.

Bello Anny Lawrence identified the pastor as Clifford Ojugo of Reedeem Christian Church of God (RCCG), Peace House, Idimu, who lives at No 9, Babatope Babatope Close, Igando.

According to the concerned Facebook user, the house maid, an orphan was punished by the pastor for lying that she had done an errand she was yet to do. The maid is now under the care of a concerned family in the neighbourhood.

Tinubu, Atiku To Pull Out Of APC, Join Forces For 2019 – Daily Trust

​There have been indications that ex Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar and APC bigwig Bola Tinubu might quit the party and join forces for 2019, a report from Daily Trust is saying.

This follows the feud between Tinubu and APC National Chairman John Oyegun. It was reported that both men were slighted by other party bigwigs in the events leading to Yahaya Bello emerging governor of Kogi state.

The events of the recent Ondo governorship primary widened the crack between Tinubu and other party chiefs, the report said, as the delegate list was manipulated with Tinubu losing out. Furthermore, Odigie-Oyegun sent a name to INEC as the party’s candidate despite an appeal committee nullifying the primary result.

This infuriated Tinubu, with Atiku drumming support for him. “You cannot break your own rules without creating problems,” he said. Both men are now forming an alliance, it’s said.

“Tinubu is having a serious realignment with Atiku on the possibility of pulling out with their teeming supporters if President Muhammadu Buhari continues to look the other way,” a source reportedly said.

“I can tell you that there is an ongoing political alliance between them. If they (Tinubu and Atiku) cannot remain relevant in the APC, they are likely to come up with a new political party unless the current situation is brought under control.”

The source said Atiku himself is nursing an injury inflicted on him by the party’s hierarchy. “Atiku himself is aggrieved. He had wanted to become the chairman of the BoT of the party, but that was scuttled. He is, therefore, cashing in on the current crisis to realign with Tinubu.”

The alliance between Tinubu and Atiku may well be yielding results as 12 APC governors are said to have indicated their readiness to go with them.

Reuben Abati Arrested By EFCC

Reuben Abati, the ex-presidential spokesperson and widely-known newspaper columnist has been arrested on Monday by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

He was picked up in Abuja accused of receiving N50million from former NSA Sambo Dasuki.

Dr. Abati was appointed Special Adviser on Media by President Goodluck Jonathan following the 2011 election. Since losing that position last year, he has taken no employment.

He, however, returned to his column at The Guardian, from where he had gone into government. Only on October 14 in that column, he published “The Spiritual Side of Aso Villa”, the seat of the presidency, in which he asserted that despite meaning well, President Jonathan and his government were held in “spiritual bondage” by unknown forces.

Alongside Reuben Abati are other big fishes in EFCC custody as at Monday night are Musiliu Obanikoro, a former minister of state for defence, Femi Fani-Kayode, a spokesperson for Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election campaign last year, and Reuben Abati, the former president’s spokesperson while in office.

An evil and heartless man has done the unthinkable by using a knife to stab his wife and daughter to death while they were sleeping.

According to Sunday Sun, Ogar is alleged to have committed the dastardly act on October 8, 2016 in Mpape, Abuja.

Explaining how Ogar killed the wife and daughter, Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory Command, Mr. Mohammed Mustafa, said that Ogar slept with his wife and their only daughter on the same bed, woke up suddenly in the middle of the night, took a knife and stabbed both of them to death, and they died instantly.

After that, he carried the corpses of the dead 27-year-old wife, Omago and the daughter, two-year-old Blessing to a nearby nursery and primary school in the area; he allegedly wrote a small note and dropped it beside the corpses and then ran off to hide in his farm.

However, he was exposed when one of his neighbours, Destiny Onwusuaka, noticed a trail of blood that led to the door of the family house.



“It was around 7:00am when I discovered stains of blood on the floor and followed the trail to the door of Ogar. When I looked into the room, I saw a pool of blood but I didn’t see the husband or the victims.


“It was later that I saw the two corpses where the husband dropped them. I shouted and called our neighbours. We then ran to the police to report what we saw. We started searching for the husband. It took four days before we found him and arrested him in his farm on October 11, 2016." Onwusuaka said.
Following the arrest of the suspect, the corpses of the deceased were moved to the mortuary of the National Hospital, Abuja.

At the Criminal Investigation Department of the FCT Police Command, where he spoke with Sunday Sun, Ogar said: “I don’t have a job, I cannot feed my family, I can only feed myself, and God should forgive me for what I have done.

“I don’t know what came to my mind; it was frustration that led me to stab my wife and only daughter to enable me survive in life.”

As it stands now, Mustafa said that Ogar’s hope of surviving in life now lies at the discretion of the court where he would soon be arraigned to answer charges.

How to Check ATM Fraud - Prof. Ayo

The Former Vice-Chancellor of Convenant University, Ota in Ogun State, Professor  Charles Ayo who happens to be an expert when it comes to the use of fingerprint scanner to checkmate Automatic Teller Machines fraud has advised the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), to ensure the use of fingerprint scanner to check for Automated Teller Machines (ATM) fraud.

Prof. Ayo gave the advice at the seventh inaugural lecture organised by the institution to mark its 14th Founder’s Day on Saturday in Ota.

The lecture is entitled: “Deconstructing the National Development Agenda; The Role of Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs)”

The former vice-chancellor said that the policy do not require any special design as the current system could accommodate the proposed features at minimal cost.

“The fingerprint authentication will be a cheaper alternative than to relocate all ATMs to safer premises.

“The introduction of fingerprint scanner will further boost the apex bank’s policy in addressing frauds in the country,’’ he said.

Prof. Ayo attributed frauds and other related social vices like cultism, insurgency and militancy to negligence and under funding of the nation’s educational system.

The former vice-chancellor said that no nation could develop in an atmosphere devoid of peace, probity, accountability, transparency and adherence to the rule of law.

He, however, urged the Federal Government to invest massively in the education and deployment of ICTs in all operations and services as antidote to poverty, ignorance, and to unlock national development.

In his remarks, Dr David Oyedepo, the chancellor of the institution, said that universities in Nigeria and others African countries should respond to issues and problems facing them through huge investment in education.

Oyedepo urged them to look at education as a core requirement in solving their problems and restore their glories without waiting for any foreign assistance.

5 Untouchable Men in President Buhari's Anti-Corruption War

Below are the names of the five people that has not been ordered for interrogation or questioning by law enforcement agencies regardless of whatever wrong the populace has associated their names with.

(1) Chief Olusegun Obasanjo

Named as one of Nigeria’s strongest politician ever, the Egba High Chief, and a former president of Nigeria, is one of the country’s ‘’untouchable’’. Despite the fact that many Nigerians and groups have called for his probing, the former president has not been invited by any law enforcement or anti-graft agencies over any form of financial misappropriation. Moreover, the EFCC which was asked to interrogate him was seen by many as a tool in his hands which he used to hound his political opponents during his tenure.

(2) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu

Popularly known as The Jagaban of Borgu, the two-term governor of Lagos State and national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been trailed with series of allegations leveled against him. Many are of the belief that he’s got some skeletons in his cupboard, but till date, he has not been convicted of committing any corrupt act. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the most powerful politician in Nigeria at the moment and holds a legendary position in the country and among the Yorubas in particular.

(3) Rotimi Amaechi

He was a former governor of Rivers State, and is presently Nigeria’s minister of transport. He is one of Nigeria’s most rugged politicians and also belongs to the country’s list of “untouchables”. This is further aided by the fact that he is a member of President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet. During his screening at the National Assembly which was postponed several times as a result of series of corruption allegations leveled against him in some quarters in Rivers State, Amaechi publicly stated that he had never collected a bribe in his life. Presently, the former governor is one of the president’s most trusted allies, and many believe that the president cannot probe him because he spent from his state’s purse to ensure that APC won last year’s general election.

(4) Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan

The former president remains unarguably one of Nigeria’s most powerful politicians not probed by the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration. His administration was touted as the most corrupt the country ever witnessed. Under his watchful eyes, public officials embezzled public fund, and to further make it worse, the officials were not probed.

This led The Economist to label him as an ‘’ineffectual buffoon’’. It is however surprising to many Nigerians that till date; the former president has not been invited for questioning by any of the anti-graft agencies. In fact, he has been to the presidential villa thrice to put heads together with the president on how to stop the unrest in the Niger Delta region and how to move the country forward in general.

(5) Alhaji Atiku Abubakar

Former vice president, Atiku Abubakar also belongs to the list of Nigerians who have not been probed by the present administration. He is one of the movers and shakers in the Northern part of the country and holds a very dignified position in the All Progressives Congress (APC). He is alleged to be one of those involved in the infamous Halliburton scandal. Despite the allegations, it is believed that the president holds him in dignified esteem, and as such, cannot probe him.

Patience Jonathan Opens Up: "Frozen Account With $31.4m Belongs To Me"

 

The wife of Former president of Nigeria, Dame Patience Jonathan, is claiming ownership of the $31.4 million involved in an alleged fraud case before a Federal High Court in Lagos.

Counsel to the first defendant in charge, with case number FHC/337C/16, Mr. Gboyega Oduwole, informed the court that Mrs. Jonathan filed a fundamental application against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), claiming ownership of the Millions of Dollars.

The EFCC had taken former presidential aide, Amajuoyi Azubike Briggs, former Skye Bank official, Damola Bolodeoku, Pluto Property and Investment Company Limited and Avalon Global Property Development Company Limited to court in an alleged $31.4 million fraud involving the companies without addresses.

Others also charged include Seagate Property Development and Investment Company Limited; Trans Ocean Property and Investment Company Limited, Avalon Global Property Development Company Limited and Globus Integrated Services Limited.

According to an application filed on September 6, this year, with file number FHC/L/C5/1233/16, Mrs. Jonathan is asking the court to make an order for the enforcement of her fundamental rights, in terms of reliefs she sought, and naming as defendants, the EFCC and Skye Bank Plc.

The former first lady asked the court to make a declaration that the fund standing to the credit of four of the companies and an account in her own name in Skye Bank belonged to her.

She also asked the court to declare that the action of the respondents in placing a No Debit/Freezing Order on the said accounts without any order of a competent court of law or prior notice to her, to be in breach of her fundamental rights as contained in the constitution of Nigeria.

Apple iPhone 7 Plus Arrives With Dual Cameras

After months of leaks Apple just took the wraps off its iPhone 7 Plus with two cameras.

Camera

The dual camera setup on the back combines two sensors to work as 2x optical zoom similar to the solution offered by LG with its G5 and V20.

The new cameras on the iPhone 7 Plus are one "wide" angle 28mm and a "telephoto" 56mm unit. Both have 12MP sensors and the camera can combine the two perspectives to achieve a shallow depth of field effect. The iPhone 7 Plus does this by building a depth map and isolating the background from the subjects - and what's cooler is that you can see the depth of field effect in real time before you take an image. This isn't anything new - we've seen it from Nokia, HTC, Google and other makers.

The new 12MP snapper is 60% faster and 30% more efficient. Like its predecessor the camera has optical image stabilization. The lens is a new 6-element lens with a quad-LED flash to aid in low light. The 28mm camera has an f/1.8 aperture while the 58mm telephoto camera has a rather slow f/2.8 opening. The FaceTime selfie camera has received a two megapixel bump up to 7MP.

Hardware

With number 7 Apple has introduced a new, polished design which Apple has machined to make the glass and aluminum feel like one seamless piece of hardware. The camera hump has been carved straight from the block of aluminum and there's a new stainless steel Apple logo on the back. The antenna lines have become more discreet now and are less visible.

The Apple iPhone 7 Plus comes with a brand new Jet Black variant with a mirror-like glossy finish. But in case you're a fan of the old anodized finish you get a new Black color variant to go along with the Gold, Silver and Rose Gold color options.

Apple has finally ditched the classic mechanical home button. Following in the steps of the Macbook trackpad and the displays on the Apple Watch (1 and series 2) and the iPhone 6s the home button is now a 3D Touch button. Apple has included a new, more sensitive Haptic Engine underneath the button to give you physical feedback when using the button. With the Haptic Engine the iPhone 7 Plus will now have more sensitive vibrations throughout the OS.

One of the most dialogue-provoking rumors is now a reality - the new iPhone 7 Plus comes without a 3.5mm headphone jack but Apple has you covered with lightning EarPods and a 3.5mm to lightning adapter in the retail box. There are no Bluetooth AirPods as standard, though - you'll need to pay a $160 premium for those.

The Apple iPhone 7 Plus also brings stereo speakers. One speaker is at its usual downward-facing position while another one is hidden under the earpiece. Apple promises the new iPhones will be twice as loud as the previous ones.

The iPhone 7 Plus also isn't afraid of water with a rating of IP67 so you can dip it in water up to 1 meter deep and don't have to worry about dust.

Performance

The Apple iPhone 7 Plus comes with a new A10 Fusion chipset with a quad-core processor and 3.3 billion transistors (if you care about that stuff). Two of its cores are high-performance for tough hauls and the other two are battery-saving for idle time.

The graphics processor inside the A10 Fusion is 50% faster than the one inside the A9 in the Apple 6S Plus.

Battery

Apple claims the iPhone 7 Plus lasts about 1 hour per day more than its predecessor. Apple's preliminary figures taut 60 hours of wireless audio and some 13 hours of LTE browsing.

You can preorder the iPhone 7 Plus from September 9, starting at $769 with a new base storage of 32GB, while 128GB and 256GB are the roomier options (the shiny Jet Black version only comes in 128GB and 256GB). Availability starts on September 16.
