You Are Embarrassing Our Family, Fayose's Brother Blasts Him

Elder brother to Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state, Segun Fayose says he is an embarrassment to their family. Speaking with The Nation in Ibadan on Sunday, Segun Fayose, a UK-based accountant said that he has cautioned his brother many times over his recent remarks insulting Obasanjo and Buhari but he has refused to listen.

In the words of Fayose's brother: "It is a pity Nigerians are celebrating criminals. I am angry with Nigerians for electing somebody like Ayodele as governor. My children cannot come to Nigeria because of the terrible situation of our country."I don’t have a relationship with any of our leaders because of their criminality and anybody who says I collected money from the opposition should step forward to challenge me. Ekiti and Nigeria are bigger than Fayose’s name and both names should be protected. I don’t want anything from anybody, but Ayo should stop insulting and abusing my father’s name.

"As a result of Fayose’s attitude, many people believe the Fayose family is rude but it is far from the truth. I have spoken to him many times, but he refused to listen. Buhari and Obasanjo are old enough to be his father and I don’t know why he should be insulting them.

"I am always sad with the situation of this country. Ayo’s arrogance is one of the reasons I said people should not vote for him prior to the Ekiti governorship election. If all I am saying is not true, my six children should die and I should end up in shame. Most of us abroad are not happy with the situation of Nigeria. We are sad.

"When people call me from Ekiti to complain about Ayo, I tell them to forgive the family. People should not see Ayo as an ambassador of our family."

Things Must Change, I Will make Naira equal to Dollar In Value – Buhari

The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, has said he would ensure that the Naira gets stronger and becomes equal to the Dollar in value, if he is voted into office.

“It is sad that the value of the naira has dropped to more than N230 to one dollar; this does not speak well for the nation’s economy,’’ he said.

He urged Nigerians to vote for APC, noting that he would ensure that corruption is eradicated.

He stated this during the South-East presidential rally of the party at Dan Anyima Stadium, Owerri.

Earlier, Gov Rochas Okorocha had urged APC supporters to vote for the party’s candidates at all levels, noting that a vote for Buhari without support to others at the state would amount to nothing.

Okorocha said Buhari would address the problem of electricity, bring back the kidnapped Chibok girls and promote industrial growth.

He said that Buhari was loved by the people in the region and urged them to elect him and other APC candidates during the March 28 and April 11 general elections.

Former governor of Anambra, Mr Chinwoke Mbadinuju and former Minister of Education, Chinwe Obaji, were formally welcomed to the APC at the rally.

Election Is Not a Do-or-Die Affair – Sultan tells Jonathan, Buhari

With barely a week to the 2015 presidential election scheduled to hold on the 28th of March, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ ad Abubakar, yesterday, appealed to political actors, especially President Goodluck Jonathan and Major General Muhammadu Buhari, not to take the election as a do-or-die affair.

The Sultan, speaking when the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Brigadier General Johnson Olawunmi, paid him a courtesy call in his palace, said winners of elections were predestined by God, wondering why some of them view elections as a do-or-die affair.

“While they struggle for electoral success, they should also consider the well-being of the country after elections,” he stated.

The Sultan also called on the security agencies to protect corps members and other personnel that will be involved in the conduct of the general elections.

I Regret Campaigning For Jonathan – Ex-Speaker Na’Abba

Former Speaker of the House of Representatives and former member of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon Ghali Na’Abba has said in his 16 years sojourn in the PDP, the only regret he has is working for President Goodluck Jonathan’s election in 2011.

In his words: “My only regret is partaking in the election of Goodluck Jonathan. I have really regretted being among those who partook in the campaign to have him as the president of this country even though I did it altruistically but I think he has betrayed this country. What he said when we were going to begin was that he would work to ensure and sustain the unity of this country.

“Today, he has become the most divisive president in Nigeria. He has divided Nigerians along religious and ethnic lines. There is no week that he would not go from one church to another, issuing political statements. The Archbishop of Jos, Bishop Kaigama had to warn him to stop doing that. Imagine today if General Buhari would be moving from mosque to mosque campaigning, what would happen to the country, the same Buhari they are accusing of wanting to Islamise Nigeria. I believe that this man [Jonathan] must go. We need a leader that has values in this country.”

Na’Abba who resigned from the party last week, in an exclusive interview with LEADERSHIP, said over time, he had lost confidence in the ability of Jonathan to lead the country and though he had tried to advice on the need for the proper things to done, his advice was not heeded, hence the decision to dump the PDP once and for all.

The former speaker who has now joined the APC, further accused president Jonathan and his party, the PDP of working to either ensure that the general election, scheduled to begin this Saturday, do not hold or setting the stage for the result to be discredited, if it is not in their favour.

“They either don’t want the elections to hold or they want to chip away the credibility of the elections once they lose. They want people to accept that there are anomalies in what INEC is doing,” he reveaked.

"I just read two days ago that the president gave the families of those that died N75 million and jobs. That is one year after and up till now, the minister who organised this scandalous situation is still a minister and nothing has been done about it.

"So, the extraordinary thing would have been that those millions of young men and women were given jobs by his administration.

“If for example, by the end of the four years he has been President, a substantial number of our youths through creative means have gotten jobs, I would say yes, Goodluck Jonathan has done an extraordinary thing but if you construct a road from Benin to Ore or from Calabar to Enugu, this is something that you are supposed to do; it doesn’t take any extra intelligence for anybody to do it once there are the resources... So, there is nothing extraordinary I can say that Jonathan has done.”

SHOCKER: Politician Who Predicted Buhari’s Death Is Dead

Death has nothing to do with age at all. If you don't live right, you will most likely die even before your own father or grandfather. That is the scenario that has played out here before our very eyes.

A commissioner in Benue State mocked General Buhari and called him ‘quarter-to-go’ close to his grave. But the same man is said to have slumped and died at the age of 46. What really happened?

Aondowase Chia was a commissioner in Benue State. His death has caused ripples within political circles in Nigeria. He had mocked the 72-year-old APC presidential candidate General Muhammadu Buhari, calling him ‘quarter-to-go’, insinuating that Buhari was close to his grave. But now he is gone!

I just hope the likes of Governor Ayo Fayose will learn from this saga and be more careful.

Ladies Throw Themselves Into River To Know Who A Lover Would Save First

Two women who were struggling over a man decided to take things further when they both planned to throw them selves into a river and see who the man would save first. The man found himself in a sticky situation when his current girlfriend and his ex both threw themselves into a river - to see which one he loved the most.

Wu Hsia, 21, had broken up with long-term girlfriend Jun Tang, 20, after meeting new love 22-year-old Rong Tsao.

But over the following three months, jilted Jun kept hassling him to get back with her and so she decided to arrange a meeting between the three of them.

When they gathered at a beauty spot in Ningbo, in eastern China’s Zhejiang province, the situation went from bad to worse.

A police spokesman said: "The girls began arguing and the man's ex-girlfriend felt insulted by a comment made by the new girlfriend, and so she jumped into the river calling for her former lover to save her.

"The new girlfriend, fearing that he might indeed jump in to save his ex-lover, then jumped in as well and both of them began calling for him to rescue them from drowning."

Wu settled the matter by jumping in the water to save his current girlfriend, and then taking the soaking wet and slightly injured young woman to hospital.
The police spokesman added: "He called his brother on the way home and told him to go to the river and rescue the ex-girlfriend."

Wu’s brother in turn called the fire brigade who arrived at the scene and helped Jun out of the water.

A rescue worker said: "She was taken to hospital but was released soon after without any major injuries."

The story has gone viral in China, where there is a chronic shortage of women due to the country's one child policy.

Don’t Stay Back At Polling Booths To Protect Your Votes – IGP

The Inspector General of Police Suleiman Abba, on Thursday urged Nigerians to go home and not stay back to protect their votes at the polling booths come April 11. Abba disclosed this during a briefing organised by INEC with accredited observers for the 2015 general election. He said enough police officers will be deployed around polling booths across the country to protect the votes of Nigerian.
He said, “Two to three police officers will be attached to each polling unit, and we would provide more officers for the collation centres and for the managers of the elections”

“We will go on to protect the electorate. Every eligible voter should feel safe enough to cast his votes. We will be there to protect the votes and make sure no one disrupts the process.”

The Police boss urged electorates to go back home after performing their civic duty and not to hang around the polling booth.
Abba said, “Cast your votes and go and cool down. If you remain there, there is likelihood that you will commit an offence.

“Asking voters to wait and protect their votes implies taking the law into their own hands. That is unacceptable.”

He also called on political parties to respect the electoral act, which states that only one agent is allowed in a polling unit.

Abba further urged those vying for electoral position to either accept the results when announced or seek redress at the judicial court of law.

He warned that violence and thuggery would not be condoned during or after the elections, adding that the police force will ensure it apprehends and prosecute perpetrators.

If You Are Sure I Have Stolen, I Dare You To Charge Me To Court – Tinubu tells PDP

The National Leader of All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has challenged the PDP government to charge him to court over its allegation that he embezzled Lagos State resources.

He disclosed this at the 14th Town Hall meeting of Lagos central senatorial district tagged: “Treading the Path to Prosperity,” organised by Senator Oluremi Tinubu on Wednesday.

“They said I acquire Lagos funds, this is my stomach still flat. After all, I did not tell the electorates that I did not have shoe before I was voted in the office,” he said.

According to him, if they were not feeling the pain of Bola Tinubu, they would not attack me. This is eight years I left Alausa as governor; they should go to court and prosecute me if I have embezzled the state’s fund.

The former governor of Lagos State said that this was time for PDP to leave the seat of power in Abuja, saying thousands of graduates died in the name of fighting to secure job, yet to concrete action.

Lagos-Based Woman Beaten To Death By Her Husband

The family of a woman allegedly beaten to death by her husband, has called on the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Kayode Aderanti to intervene in the case so that justice can be served.

The deceased Obiageli Anajekwu, 37, died two days after she was severely beaten by her husband, Anajekwu, Sun reports.

This is Obiageli’s story:
Obiageli got married to Anajekwu (traditional marriage) in 2002. After their marriage, Anajekwu’s business encountered hard times, and he decided to return to Brazil where he had been previously based, and promised to return in 2003, by which time it was hoped that the business would have improved.
However, Anajekwu did not return till 2011, and on his way back to the country through Cameroon, he was arrested and jailed for 3 years for suspected drug offenses.

While he was in jail, Obiageli would visit him often and take care of all his needs. She reportedly spent her life savings of over N850,000 taking care of him while he was incarcerated.

In 2013, he finally returned home.
Things seemed to be going smoothly until one day in December 2014 when he beat Obiageli because he found a charm in her bag. He threatened to end the marriage.

Anajekwu’s father subsequently revealed that he was the one who gave Obiageli the charm for protection purposes. According to the father, Obiageli had suddenly developed swollen legs, and a traditional healer had revealed that she had developed the condition because some evil members of the family were trying to attack her as well as himself.

After hearing his father’s testimony, Anajekwu still insisted that he wanted to send Obiageli away, and so they struck a deal: Anajekwu would set up a supermarket for Obiageli and refund her the money she spent taking care of him while in prison. It was, however, also agreed that his wife would remain with him until he fulfilled all the aspects of agreements which he said he would do after selling his house.
However, on January 19 2015, Anajekwu beat up his wife and summoned a friend of his to assist with the beating. Afterwards, he threw her out of the house at 1 a.m, leaving her with severe injuries.

She ran to a friend’s house and the friend advised her to report the matter to the police. However, the police did not intervene until she died two days later. Afterwards, the police arrested Anajekwu but released him almost immediately.

“Our pain is that police investigation had been very slow and tardy, making us to suspect that we may not get justice.   The police have been demanding various sums of money from us for embalmment and autopsy which we have paid, but they have bluntly refused to charge the matter to court.

“We hereby appeal to CP Aderanti to wade into the matter so that the law will take its cause.  We demand for justice so that our sister’s soul will rest in peace,” the family wrote in the petition to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police.

Mrs Jonathan said they have been abusing her and her husband over the attack at APC rally in Okrika on Feb 17th and she doesn't plan to answer them. She said this while campaigning at the PDP women rally in Rivers state today. She said;

"They are rascals and I will not respond to them. Don’t let me open my mouth to talk about these rascals. The Rivers monorail will not be completed until hundred (years). It will remain like that until my great grandchildren are born. We did not vote for these people. We in Rivers State voted Celestine Omehia, but these people came and took our mandate away and today they are abusing us. They don’t have respect for elders. They are busy abusing me and my husband. I will not answer them. In Rivers State, we respect elders but these rascals have no respect for their elders. We must vote them out in April.”

My Husband Is The Messiah, says Patience Jonathan

The first lady of Nigeria, Patience Jonathan said that her husband was the messiah we have been seeking for in Nigeria, hence she told women not to vote for General Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“Nigerian women, if they (APC) come, tell them that your mother said you should not listen to them. They have nothing to offer. They have nothing to give you, Nigerian women; because the battle has already been conquered, God has opened the way for us. God has brought down the messiah for us. And PDP is the messiah. Goodluck is the messiah,”

The President’s wife said this at the PDP’s women presidential rally in in Ilorin, Kwara State.

She asked Buhari to leave politics and governance to younger people.

“I am a person that will tell the truth. I will not abuse people, but if you are old you are old, so leave it to younger people,” she said in a veiled reference to her husband’s main challenger, whom the PDP had said was too old to occupy the President’s office.

The President’s wife likened the opposition APC to an “expired and adulterated drug” and urged the Nigerian electorate not to vote for the party, saying it could lead to their death.

Mrs. Jonathan said, “What are we going to take expired drug to do? Have you seen anywhere where APC cured any person? If you vote and drink it and die, it is not my business. Do not go near APC. It is an expired drug and an adulterated drug.”

Jonathan & His Wife Wants To Kill Me - Father Mbaka

Popular Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, has alleged that President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience, were planning to kill him over his criticism of the bad governance in Nigeria today and his opposition to the President’s re-election bid.

Father Mbaka, in a new video currently trending on YouTube, made the allegation during a sermon he delivered in his church. The congregation erupted in a howl when Mbaka said, “President Jonathan and his wife are planning to kill me.”

Watch the shocking video by Father Mbaka below:

The Roman Catholic Priest, whose recent comments on the general elections generated ripples, said the plan to assassinate him showed that the President no longer had the fear of God.

He said, “Although I sent a letter about this somewhere but I want to say this to the atmosphere. Let me say to the whole world that President Jonathan and his wife, Patience, are planning to assassinate Father Mbaka. It is a known secret, so whoever they want to use, I don’t know. They may not come themselves. They may use these unemployed people. The same people I am speaking for. I don’t know why people no longer have the fear of God.

“Do they think that killing Father Mbaka will make Jonathan and his wife win the election? Is Mbaka their problem? And a priest asked a question that touched me. He said all this while that Father Mbaka has been supporting Jonathan and his wife, did Buhari and his party make any statement to threatened him?”

Mbaka maintained that his criticism of the Jonathan administration was a divine mandate, while making allusion to the bible story of when God sent Moses to tell Pharaoh to let the Israelites go.

He compared his New Year message against President Jonathan to Moses’ message to the Egyptian King, Pharaoh.

He said in the video, “I am just trying to tell any Pharaoh that is threatening to kill any Moses to remember what happened in Exodus chapter 12. After the Passover, the family of Pharaoh cried. They ended in the middle of the Red Sea.”
