Fan Pens Open Letter to Wizkid: Dear Wizkid, You Can Do Better

Fan Pens Open Letter to Wizkid: Dear Wizkid, You Can Do BetterI have been monitoring Wizkid’s moves since he finally got his wish of leaving the recording company that made him, EME, and so far saying i am disappointed is an understatement.

Many of us have forgiven the 24 year old star for releasing a mediocre album, for his standard, but two things we cannot forgive him for are 1) putting in mediocre work into promoting the album and 2) for reducing the quality on his music out of nonchalance.

Wizkid almost didn’t promote the AYO album because after-all, it was his get out of jail clause from EME. But since getting out of jail, that is, leaving EMEWizkid’s projects have resembled that of an upcoming artiste.

ALL the videos he has released under his Starboy imprint are below standard, even for a hungry artiste who wants to make it big in the game.

The video for Show You The Money was OK, but since it is about money that was a poor video. The Video of In My bed is ridiculous. Wizkid knows this, exactly why he said the video is not a video after he released it, he said it was a “party” and that “he was having fun”. Wizkid you are a top artiste… no games, no fun, just quality.

After releasing In My Bed, Wizkid abandoned AYO album for months, he kick-started Starboy Mondays. He went on to release 2 mediocre singles and 3 below par videos.

Wonder is a 4/10 song at best, while Sound It is a 3/10 song if you want to be forgiving. The videos for the two songs are not Wizkid standard. What a drop in quality.

After this he returned to AYO again, who does this? Only Wizkid. A man who is unsigned, makes all the decisions for himself – safe to say a man without a proper plan or company structure. His fans expected big things from Ojuelegba, once again Wizkid failed, maybe that was a little bit harsh. Wizkid failed to deliver. He released a 1/10 video for arguably the best song on his AYO album.

At this point it looks as if Ibrahim Balogunjust wakes up from bed, shouts on the microphone and releases it.

He’s also announced an official single for next month, if i were you, i will look forward to another disappointment from the hugely talented artiste, for now.

What can Ayo Balogun do better? He needs to have a team. He needs to strategize again, more so, he needs a thinkerman. Banky Wdoes this job for him back in the day. Wizkid, you need to control the quality of your music. You can’t continue to release mediocre songs, you can do better. Make your fans thirst for your music.

PDP warns Tompolo & Asari: Jonathan is not an Ijaw President

At last, PDP national leadership is beginning to wake from their slumber and seeing the danger is those sad and unfortunate commentaries coming from the ex-militants who now run Billions of Naira contracts for the government of President Goodluck Jonathan.

The national leadership of the party has warned the leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, NDPVF, Alhaji Mujahid Asari- Dokubo, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, aka Tompolo and their godfather, Chief Edwin Clark, to be mindful of what they say at this period of the nation’s political history.
PDP said: “We want to stress and state publicly, that whilst we have noted the interest, zeal and enthusiasms of individuals, various groups, support groups and organisations, that are supporting the president with statements, adverts, documentaries and TV programmes; we appeal to them to be guided by the noble ideals and the visions of the founding fathers of our party.
“We are not in agreement with their statements and we are cautioning them to mind what they say. No individuals own the party. The President could be more loved in Anambra than Ijaw area. He has support in Adamawa State than in Bayelsa State...

The PDP also warned other support groups, organisations, professional bodies and associations rooting for President Goodluck Jonathan to be careful with their utterances to ensure decency in the polity.

This was even as ex- MEND Commanders in the Niger Delta, gave General Theophilus Danjuma seven days ultimatum to apologize over his call for the arrest of Asari Dokubo,Tompolo for threatening that Nigeria would break up if President Jonathan lost the February Presidential election. The ex-militants said that war would follow in Nigeria if Jonathan lost the election. Chief Clark and the ex-militants blasted General Danjuma in their reaction, saying that his remarks were disappo-inting.

At a meeting in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital yesterday, the former militant commanders in the region condemned the call for the arrest of front line freedom fighters in the region, Alhaji Mujahideen Asari Dokubo and Government Ekpemupolo a.k.a Tompolo, saying that the call amounted to a declaration of war against the Niger Delta region.

Former MEND Commander, Victor Ebikabowei Ben, alias General Boyloaf, also asked General Danjuma to apologise and hide his head in shame or face humiliation.

But speaking with newsmen in Abuja, PDP Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh noted that although the party appreciated the support of all Nigerians, it was disturbed over the provocative statements of some people which could provoke other parts of the country, warning that Jonathan was not an Ijaw President or that of the South South zone alone but the president of all Nigerians.

"Well, we have noted that whilst we are not responsible for the utterances, statements of some of our support individuals, groups and organizations; we are cautioning them to be mindful of what they say.

“Ours is a national party. We cover all zones, all local governments. No individual owns our party, no group, no people, no zone owns our party. And being a national party, we caution some of our people, some of our supporters to be mindful of the zeal that they exhibit. Let the wrong impression not be given."

It would be recalled that Asari-Dokubo had threatened that, “ex- militants would return to their old ways should President Jonathan lose the election,” at a meeting last week with Bayelsa State governor.

I Begged My Wife For Forgiveness Before I Married Another Wife – Popular Actor Ogogo

Actor Taiwo Hassan, A.K.A Ogogo, tells Punch's Ademola Oloniluaabout his career, marriage, etc.

Do you feel accomplished as an actor?
Yes, I feel fulfilled and I thank Almighty Allah for his mercies and goodness. As far as I am not dead, I am still working to be better at everything I do. So far so good, I give thanks to God.

It is a popular belief that you are a womaniser because women flock around you
I am not a womaniser, I just believe that people surround me because of the love God has for me. It also depends on how you present yourself to people. I believe in self control because if you have s*x with every woman that comes your way, then your life is in danger. If I indulge in such acts, I will not look as radiant as I am at my age. Most likely I might have contracted various diseases. If I were a womaniser, I would have thought I contracted a s*xually transmitted disease during the time I was critically ill.

How did you meet your first wife?
We were in the same theatre group and I admired her a lot. I saw her and I was interested in her. I told her that I would like to marry her and she agreed. I later married another wife but I believe everything in life has to do with destiny. I vowed that I would not have a second wife because I never fancied polygamy but it happened and I believe it was for a reason. It is God’s doing.

When you told her you wanted to marry another wife, how did she react to the news?
She felt bad and I begged her. May God give us a good wife; if I had money I could have bought a hummer jeep to beg my wife but I am not that rich. I made her understand how it happened and that regardless, it would not change anything between us. I begged her to please accept it as our destiny and I appreciate her for her understanding.

But some women will either pack out of the house or make it unbearable for the man. Did such a thing happen to you?Not at all, she did not do any of that. I asked my younger brother and two of my sisters to help me beg her. When they begged her, she said she believed that it is destiny.

What is the atmosphere in your house?
One thing I like about my first wife is that she encourages me to help people, especially my family members. She always makes sure I satisfy them if they need my help. When my mother was alive, she took good care of her. God is the only one that can forgive us our sins and I pray that he forgives me. I also pray my wife forgives me.

Why did you leave your job in the civil service for acting?
I retired. I really love the acting profession and I have been doing it for a long time. I began acting even before I started working for the water corporation. I began acting in 1981 shortly after I got a job at the water corporation as an auto-mechanic. I worked at the water corporation for about 13 years before I decided to face my acting career. That was in 1994. I am sure not many people believe that I trained as a mechanic.

How were you able to combine your civil service job with your acting career?
I always made sure that any production I partook in was on a weekend or during my annual leave.

What was your ambition as a child?
To be honest, all I knew was that I wanted to be someone great in life. I never knew that I would be involved in the entertainment industry while growing. I just admired the glitz and glamour. I think my love for entertainment can be traced to the fact that I come from a family that is deeply rooted in the Yoruba culture and tradition. We are masqueraders and I know how to praise people and chant very well. When I started acting, producers loved giving me the role of a traditional chanter because they knew I could chant ‘ewi’ and ‘oriki’ very well.

Since you began acting in 1981, has there been any time you felt like quitting?
Never. Such thought has never crossed my mind.

So you never had a challenging moment?
Of course, there were challenging moments but they were not enough reason for me to quit. Things are better now because back then, we did not get any financial gain from our profession. The people that enjoyed being actors were those whose parents were rich enough to sponsor their projects. Back then, if you were unable to produce a movie, it was difficult to become a success in the industry because you would always rely on stage plays to survive. When I produced my first movie, some people were shooting theirs for less than N20,000 but because I knew what I wanted, I aimed higher. I knew what it meant to produce a quality movie and I spent over N70,000 on my project. The Wicked Boy was my first movie and I shot it in 1993 in two parts. It was a big success and it sold very well. I produced a movie that I was paid a royalty of over N2m in the 90s. Now pirates have messed everything up for us.

How much were you paid for the first movie you ever featured in?
During that period, we could not charge. We were satisfied that we featured in movies. We were just doing solidarity jobs for ourselves. Gradually, we started charging and the highest we were paid then was N300. We suffered a lot before the industry became what it is today. There was a time a man called me for a job; he wanted me to chant in his movie. When he saw me, he did not believe I was an actor because of the corporate way I dressed. Then I was still a mechanic with the Lagos State Water Corporation but you would not know. When he asked me to name my price, I said N600 for starters but he could not meet up. He said that the lead character was charging about N400. I declined the job. In 1994, the highest paid actor charged about N1,500. I was paid N1,200 in 1991 for Omo Yoruba, that was the very first movie that I was paid big money.

How did you feel when you were paid such a huge amount compared to what your contemporaries were earning?I did not see it as a big deal because I was already working; although it was a huge sum in the 90s. At that time, you could not finish N2 in any restaurant except you were a glutton because naira had value then. From the location that I collected N1,200, I went to Ado-Ekiti where Fadeyi Oloro was shooting his movie and he paid me about N850. Within a week, I could make as much as N2,000. Don’t forget that I was earning salary as a civil servant. So, I lived like a king.

When you fell very ill, it was rumoured that you peddled cocaine and it got burst in your belly
I do not even know what cocaine looks like. Of course, I heard the rumour but an official of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency once told me that no one survives it when cocaine bursts in the belly. It is normal for people to peddle rumours against a popular person. Some people are image makers while others are image breakers. While I was ill, a journalist very close to me published that I had AIDS. When I became healthy, he began to dodge me. When we eventually met, I told everyone present to thank him for me because without his write-up, even though it was false, no one would have known that I was very ill and I could have died.

When you were very sick, did it ever occur to you that you might die?
Of course, it was only natural for one to have such thoughts at that period. I began to have the feeling that I might lose my life after I had sought for help at several places but found none. I spent a lot of money while taking care of myself.

What lessons did you learn from your illness?
I learnt that it is not everybody that truly likes you. We have a lot of entertainers in Lagos but only a handful cared enough to check on me when I was ill.

How were you able to regain your stature because you looked very frail when you were ill?
That is the work of God because I did not use any drug to regain my stature. I had chronic ulcer so I had to be eating well; the only thing I could not do was exercise. I am getting over it because ulcer can only be managed and not totally cured.

How did you venture into music?
It has always been a part of my family heritage. I released an album titled Appreciation in 2009. I did it in America and I found out that it was well accepted, so I came to Nigeria to do the same thing but the marketer ran away with my N2m. After a while, I decided to produce another album and I am grateful to my fans because the feedback has been great. The acceptance of the first album encouraged me to do another album. I did not make money from the first album but I was happy with the feedback that I got.

Give Me A 2nd Term and I Will Focus On Youth Development – Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan has assured youths in the country that he will focus on youth development, if he is re-elected for a second term in office. He said this on Friday in Calabar while addressing supporters of the PDP at a campaign rally ahead of the Feb. 14 Presidential election.

Jonathan assured the people of the state that his government would not disappoint them, if he was re-elected into office for another four years.
“I am going to use my second term in office to create an avenue for wealth creation, so that young graduates can have an alternative to be self-reliant.
“If Nigerian youths are meaningfully engaged, it will reduce social vices and promote the economic profile of our great nation."

Jonathan urged youths in the state to have a positive outlook towards life, adding that the future of the country was in their hands.

Also speaking, Vice President Namadi Sambo, described President Jonathan as the most qualified for the job, adding that his achievement in office had transformed the country.

Highlighting some of the achievements of the President, Sambo said that the 550 KVA Calabar power plant had been delivered and ready for use.

He also said the nation’s industrial sector has received a boost, adding that this was manifested in the current production of 35 million tonnes of cement annually from two million tonnes previously.

Reject PDP, Vote For APC and You Will See Real Development – Buhari

As part of his nationwide campaign tour, the APC presidential nominee Muhammadu Buhari and his running mate Yemi Osinbajo, were in Lagos to reach out to voters before the 14th February election date.

The delegation’s first stop was at the palace of the Oba of Lagos State, Oba Rilwan Akiolu who received them warmly and referred to the morning downpour as "a rain of calm and blessings" for the APC party.

After the visit, they journeyed to the rally location at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, enjoying an open air bus ride that conveyed them from Lagos Island. At the rally, the event was led by Senator Abike Dabiri-Erewa and Hon. Dino Melaye, members of the APC campaign council.
The APC national chairman Chief John Oyegun took to the stage to introduce Buhari and Osinbajo to the people. Buhari, amidst shouts of "Sai Buhari", spoke on the essence of the ‘Change’ message: "We have suffered under the regime of the PDP for 16 years,” he told the audience. “On 14 February go out and vote PDP out from the top to the bottom, in the interests of the nation."

He also identified the three fundamental issues facing the country: insecurity, corruption, and the flailing economy, all of which he assured would be tackled squarely under a Buhari/Osinbajo administration.

Addressing the huge gathering at the stadium, Gov Rotimi Amaechi made a case for why PDP should not be re-elected: "Jonathan has been tested once and have failed us in everything. He should not be given a second chance; there is no indication things will get better this time."

Babatunde Fashola, Adams Oshiomole, Rauf Aregbesola, Bola Tinubu also took turns to deliver speeches of encouragement with Oshiomole saying, "We need a government that will put in place a coherent industrial policy that will boost the Nigeria economy, and Buhari can deliver on this."

Part of the activity for the day were performances by fuji legend King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (KWAM1), and from new-generation artists including Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, Korede Bello, Olamide of YBNL, Davido, and Dammy Krane, who all took turns to treat the enthusiastic crowd to their most popular songs, some remixed for the occasion.

Other delegates on board the presidential convoy were:
National leader Bola Tinubu; Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola; Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola; Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomole; Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha; Lagos State gubernatorial nominee, Akinwunmi Ambode, and many more.

Buhari may Die in office, Jonathan'll be disgraced in the election — Celestial Church Prophet

A set of shocking predictions are now trending and every Nigerian should be concerned about them. In a chat with Encomium, the Spiritual Leader of the Celestial Church of Christ, Elisha Parish, Marcus Korede Tibetan has "revealed" what is to be expected during and after the coming elections.

The revelations are controversial and shocking at the same time. Read below:

The Prophet, who is popular for some of his controversial declarations, made it known that President Jonathan will be embarrassed and disgraced in the elections. He also claimed that if General Buhari assumes the post of President on May 29, the life of the APC presidential candidate might be cut short.

He however stated that Buhari only wants to become President as a concerned Nigerian.

Sir, there is so much anxiety in the political landscape and 2015 is already pregnant with fears, as a seer and an anointed prophet of God, what should we expect in 2015?
God said in the book of Genesis Chapter 1, ‘Let there be light and there was light’. It is the people’s voice that will prevail. God does have any special thing for 2015 but the more I stop telling you lies, that is when we will know peace in our house.

The country has no middle class and only low class, the levelers and the people up there who have the long spoons. When they stop digging their long spoons into the federal purse, then we can have a peaceful 2015. But if this fraud is not stopped, the people will be in danger.

They are going to devalue the Naira three times before March and this is an agreement between an insiders in Nigeria and some foreign economic hawks. I am talking of Okonjo Iweala, she knows about it. She is looking for ways to run away.

- Nigerians need to watch out for these predictions in the days ahead.

SEE Jonathan's Massive Transformation in the Critical Sectors

It is obvious that President Goodluck Jonathan is a silent performer who gets the job done without making too much noise. No matter what his opponents are telling you, there are incontrovertible FACTS to show that things haveCHANGED FOR THE BETTER in the critical sectors of our country from Road to Rail Infrastructure, Agriculture to Health, Trade & Investment to Aviation, Education to Youth Empowerment, etc.

Anybody who tells you that Jonathan has not done anything, tell the person that he is a liar. He has done a lot of good works, especially in the last 4 years, and he is determined to do even much more.

If you cast your vote for Jonathan (as the PDP presidential candidate) on February 14, he wont need to spend about two years studying what is on ground; he has already mastered the systems and no civil servant can deceive him. Don't waste your vote on someone who will come in and start learning what is on ground, vote for Jonathan so that all the good works we will show you can continue.

Below are some of the great transformations President Jonathan has achieved:

6 Million: The Number of Farmers who now receive Farm Inputs directly
This and other achievements by President Jonathan which has led to the availability of foods for Nigerians to eat will be covered extensively in the next Post where we shall focus on Agriculture, but we want you to have it in mind that there is no longer food scarcity in Nigeria and more jobs have been created in this all-important sector due to the intervention of President Jonathan of PDP.

15 Years: The Period most of our Rail Lines where Dead until Jonathan intervened
It is only blind man that will deny what President Jonathan of PDP has achieved in this critical sector. All the way; Lagos-Kano, Port Harcourt-Enugu, Port Harcourt-Maiduguri, Abuja-Kaduna and Itakpe-Ajaokuta-Warri, all these Rail Lines that had been moribond for 15 years have either undergone rehabilitation or modernisation. More routes are undergoing rehabilitation at a fast pace.

In fact, Rehabilitation of the Lagos-Ibadan-Oshogbo-Ilorin-Minna-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano narrow Gauge Rail Line has been COMPLETED. Also, container cargo freight services from Apapa Port complex in Lagos have commenced. Five million passengers now move by Rail yearly in Nigeria compared to just One million before Jonathan came in and intervened.

24 Hours: Round the clock Operations in Nigeria's Ports
For the first time since 1970, President Jonathan of PDP has ensured that Nigeria's Ports operate all day long, non-stop, to ensure that goods are cleared in record time for the benefit of Nigerians. As a result, clearing time for trouble-free cargo has drastically REDUCED from 39 days to just 7 days.

Also, the number of government agencies at the Ports has been cut down from 13 to just 7, an action that has streamlined bottlenecks and reduced financial requirements for clearance and decongestion.

First Time Ever: Nigeria now has its own Aviation Master Plan
This is the very first time in the history of this country that Nigeria has developed its Aviation Master Plan and Road Map, courtesy of the Transformation Agenda of President Jonathan of PDP. For the first time also, Five modern international passenger terminals are being constructed simultaneously in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kano and Enugu.

All the 22 federally-owned airports across the country are being remodeled, resulting in improved passenger experience and you may wish to know that there has been a robust revision of the Civil Aviation National Policy for the first time in over 12 years.

The Jonathan government has installed cutting-edge Navigation aids and Instruments Landing System (ILS), including runway lights and total radar coverage (TRACON)) to enhance air safety.

State-of-the-art communications and surveillance infrastructure and surveillance infrastructure to aid smooth communication between Air Traffic Controllers and Pilots have also been installed.

Jonathan has ensured that Nigeria now has a fully equipped Accident Investigation and Analysis Laboratory. This is the only one of such facility in West Africa and one of the only four in Africa. Security infrastructure are being upgraded at a fast pace to cope with emerging security challenges.

Courtesy of President Jonathan of the PDP, Six Airports - Lagos, Jos, Yola, Ilorin, Makurdi, Jalingo - which are strategically located in proximity to food baskets have been designated as Perishable Cargo Airports and international standards perishable cargo facilities are being developed at these airports.

* These and many more facts that we will bring to you in subsequent posts are the Silent but Remarkable and Commendable achievements of President Jonathan in Infrastructure and other sectors.

Arrest Tompolo, Asari, Others Now - Gen T.Y Danjuma says

Former Minister of Defence Gen T.Y Danjuma has called on Pres. Jonathan to order the immediate arrest of Asari Dokubo, Government Tompolo and other Niger Delta ex-militants who declared that they would destabilise the country if the president does not win next month's presidential election.

Danjuma said this in an interview at the North West University, Kano shortly after commissioning the Kwankwasiyya City built by the Kano state government today January 28th. He said the militants must be punished for making such unguarded utterances which could throw the nation into chaos.

"The statements were very reckless coming from irresponsible individuals and they should be condemned, in fact they should be arrested" he said. (Source - Daily Trust)

Ex-Minister Maku Is An Ungrateful Animal – Jonathan's Team

Labaran Maku, immediate past Minister of Information in President Goodluck Jonathan administration is in the eye of the storm. Speaking on Tuesday at the PDP presidential campaign rally in Lafia, Nasarawa State, the DG of Jonathan's campaign organisation, Senator Ahmadu Ali, lambasted Maku for dumping the party when he was suppose to be working for Jonathan's success.

Maku, who is the gubernatorial candidate of APGA in Nasarawa State, had allegedly claimed that Jonathan encouraged him to join the party. But Ali said Jonathan never asked anybody to join APGA.

Accusing Maku of plotting to smear Jonathan and portray him as a religious bigot, Ali said having used the PDP's platform to rise to stardom, the former minister, out of greed, jumped the ship.

Ali vowed that Maku's ambition will never be realised as he lacks integrity.
President Jonathan  also publicly disowned Maku, clarifying that at no time did he encourage him to defect from the PDP to another party.

Jonathan explained that the PDP was against anti-party activities, saying as the leader of the party, he would never flout its rules and regulations.

In the same vein, Senate President Senator David Mark said Maku was a liar for claiming that he was planted in the APGA to run for governorship.

The Senate president urged the APGA gubernatorial flag bearer to apologise and retrace his steps.

"Don't be deceived by
any son of yours that says he has been put in another party to run for the governorship. Mr. President is PDP from top to bottom", Mark said.

PDP chair in Ondo decampes with 5000 party members to APC

Since Governor Olusegun Mimiko joined the PDP and took over the structure of the party in Ondo State, the party has been suffering some major loses and the negative tide has even gone a step higher.

Barely 24 hours to the visit of President Goodluck Jonathan to Ondo State, a former chairman of the PDP in the state, Chief Sanya Orungbemi, and 5,000 others from the Akoko North East local government area of the state yesterday defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The leader of the defectors and former senatorial aspirant, Mr Jide Ipinsagba, said at a press conference in Ikare-Akoko, that they decided to dump PDP because of the injustice in the party.

He said: “We leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party and Labour Party in Akoko North East Local Government Area and over 5000 teeming supporters are moving from a deadly party to a progressive party.”

He lamented the rate at which people were moving out of PDP since Governor Mimiko joined the party in October last year.
Mr. Ipinsagba stated that old members of the PDP in the state are no longer allowed to have any say in the affairs of the party except what the governor imposes on them.

“We are leaving PDP to for APC to restore the glory and ensure the development of our area and our people. Not only the people of Akoko are tired of the current trends in Ondo state and Nigeria at large but every right thinking person.”

The defectors were received into the APC by its state chairman, Hon. Isaac Kekemeke and other leaders.

Mr. Jonathan is of the Ijaw ethnic stock, and the only member of a minority tribe to have ever governed Nigeria.

The former militants, who said any attempt to dethrone the President would be seen as a direct attack on the Ijaw nation, threatened to unleash violence on the country and take back Niger Delta oil should Mr. Jonathan loses re-election.

According to them the President’s victory in the election is not negotiable.

The former militant leaders took the position Friday in Government House, Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, at an enlarged meeting that was attended by all the former militant leaders and their followers across the Niger Delta region.

Among those in attendance were, Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, leader, Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force; Victor Ben Ebikabowei, aka, Boy Loaf, and Government Ekpudomenowei, aka, Tompolo.

Also in attendance were the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs, and Chairman of Amnesty Implementation Committee, Kingsley Kuku; Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake willieson; and his deputy, President General of Ijaw Youth Council, Udengs Eradiri, among others.

Addressing the meeting, Dokubo-Asari deplored the alleged intimidation being meted to the people of Ijaw stock in Nigeria, saying the people cannot take it any longer.

“For every Goliath, God created a David. For every Pharoah, there is a Moses. We are going to war. Everyone of you should go and fortify yourself,” he said.

He advised those at the meeting to be ready for the battle ahead and declared that Mr. Jonathan would win reelection.

Mr. Dokubo-Asari, who condemned the attack on Jonathan in the north in the ongoing presidential campaigns, maintained that the survival of the Ijaw nation rests in the hands of the militants gathered at the meeting.

On his part, Boyloaf condemned the attack on President Jonathan in the north, saying nobody has the monopoly of violence.

He said there is nothing like one Nigeria, pointing out that oil is the only thing binding Nigeria’s diverse nationalities together.

While maintaining that President Jonathan would win the election, he however said if the north takes the power away from Mr. Jonathan, the people of the Niger Delta region would take their oil back.

He stressed the need for oneness of purpose among the people, urging them to keep their grudges aside and face the present challenges facing the Ijaw nation with solidarity.

“Keep grudges and sentiments apart. We are ready to match them bumper to bumper,” Boyloaf said.

In his remark, Governor willieson thanked the former militant leaders for their resolve to back the re-election of President Jonathan with greater vigour and assured them that he would relate their position to the President.

He urged them to resist the temptation of being recruited by the opposition to destabilize the state.

The governor also charged them to shun propaganda and blackmail.

If Anything Happens To Buhari

What haven’t we heard and seen? My only pity is for those who are still rooting for the usurpers of our commonwealth, stealers of our peace, and despoilers of our land, despite not benefiting anything from them. Those despoilers are in a final dash to loot and share whatever their hands can reach. Some of them are ready to face the music. But most have relocated abroad or are planning to do so very shortly. The guilty are afraid.

Let us think for a second or two, about the kind of campaign that is being mounted especially by the ruling party. The president - no stranger to divisive politics - talks about politicians minding their utterances but continues to lead the pack of character assassins, rash talkers and forgers of document. The main opposition even sticks to the issue better and seems better prepared for the job ahead - a great task indeed given the total emptying of the treasury. Nigeria has been stolen blind by operatives of this government and their civil-servant cohorts and instigators.

First, we were hearing about how Buhari is a Muslim bigot who is coming to convert by force, the whole Nigeria to Islam. We asked whether this is possible and whether it has been done anywhere in the world. Not even in Saudi Arabia have they forced everyone to become Muslims!

Neither can anyone also ‘Christianize’ Nigeria. But the purveyors of this bogeyman idea keep plying their trade, even preaching the same story from church pulpits around the country to date. We need to watch and listen.

Then they said the man does not have the basic school leaving certificate, even though the constitution only recommends “an equivalent”, and even Buhari has the equivalent of a Masters degree, according to legal luminary Itse Sagay (SAN), because some of the military courses he went for abroad equate to such. The man is intelligent, has always been and there is no reason to doubt his mental capabilities today. In fact, this is what the constitution says about the issue of certificate or no certificate:

“Section 131 (d) of the Constitution provides that a person shall be qualified for election to the office of the President if he has been educated up to at least School Certificate level or its equivalent. Section 318 goes further to say that a “School Certificate or its equivalent means: a Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent, or Grade II Teacher’s Certificate, the City and Guilds Certificate; or education up to Secondary School Certificate level; or Primary Six School Leaving Certificate or its equivalent and- service in the public or private sector in the Federation in any capacity acceptable to the Independent National Electoral Commission for a minimum of ten years, and attendance at courses and training in such institutions as may be acceptable to the Independent National Electoral Commission for periods totalling up to a minimum of one year, and the ability to read, write, understand and communicate in the English language to the satisfaction of the Independent National Electoral Commission, and any other qualification acceptable by the Independent National Electoral Commission.” - courtesy Abimbola Ojenike in The Cable

The new story is now that the good General perjured; that he lied in court that he has a school-leaving certificate, when it appears that the Principal of his primary school merely issued a letter recommending/certifying him to the Army. I should think such ‘certification’ or ‘testimonial’ by the Principal of his school, perhaps stating that indeed he was quite bright and ahead of his time, should even be a plus. Whether the man should remember exactly what happened 60 odd years ago is another question.

They weren’t done. Before then they forged a so-called report from the “Ahmadu Bello Teaching Hospital”, a non-existent organization; because the real hospital is called AHMADU BELLO UNIVERSITY TEACHING HOSPITAL. The fake report, which was circulated by Jonathan’s lovers and campaigners said that Buhari has prostate cancer. They actually got a doctor, a fraudulent one at that, to write in that ‘report’ in a manner that suggests professionalism. But it was fake. Their printer omitted UNIVERSITY on the ‘forms/letterheads’. Too bad. We now deal with people who are so desperate, they will do anything to cling to their positions and what they have. THE GUILTY ARE AFRAID. Lies, innuendoes, thefts, intimidation, character assassination, even forgery. Are these the people we voted for? The ones we hope to hand over a mandate for the next four years?

As if that was not enough, the nation awoke on Monday the 19th of January 2015, to an advert paid for by the Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency the Rascal, Ayo Fayose, in the Punch and Sun newspapers - in fact on their front pages - in which were the photographs of Murtala Muhammad, SaniAbacha and Umaru Yaradua. General MuhammaduBuhari’s picture was the fourth, with his age, 72, written next to him. Fayose then went on to tell Nigerians not to choose death and to choose life; life here being his candidate, Goodluck Jonathan. He averred that northern leaders always died in office and that since Buhari was already 72, he was likely to die by 75 and there was no need for another state burial.

I had never seen anything so shockingly distasteful in my life. I got so angry, I called Fayose a bastard on my Facebook page, instinctively, only to later remember that President Obasanjo, who knows him much better and brought him to limelight, had called him the same thing many years ago. For me, it was that it is abominable for a Yoruba person to say such a thing - as if asking one’s father “when will you die so I can inherit your properties”. This is the stuff of people leading Nigeria today. Recall I had written on this page, that we pray that God delivers us from psychopaths, megalomaniacs and schizophrenics. Not because I loved the big words, but specifically because I think most of those ‘leading’ Nigeria, especially in the PDP today, are totally unhinged and belong in the sanatorium (mental hospital). Fayose is actually one of those. He even quoted Bible verses to support his abominable excursion.

We should only now inform him that he and his paymasters will be totally responsible even if the lizard on General Buhari’s wall in his Daura country-home suddenly falls and dies. Nothing must happen to Buhari or any of his keen supporters, myself inclusive. We didn’t know we were dealing with people like these. Despicable and disgusting!

What these people don’t know is that a revolution is already upon the land and there is no way Nigeria will not change after the upcoming February 14 elections. People are sick and tired. We hear they are doing some final looting - the ‘smart’ ones among them. They know themselves that their games lasted for too long. What will be will be. I want us to be positive-minded, to have that goal-orientation required at this time, and to never give in to any equivocation, that this government will be no more by May 29, 2015. I believe strongly that this government will be routed in the coming elections and will depart in ignominy. Many former Jonathan supporters have converted in the last few days.

We must not rest on our oars. The analogy about King Solomon, the child and the two women is apt. It is obvious who cares about Nigeria and who doesn’t. We only never knew it could be this bad; that they would do everything to try and scuttle the people’s wish for emancipation and some well-deserved peace and prosperity, including destroying the nation. But we still hold the trump card. God save Nigeria!
